Gohman and Sunbury are receiving the Benedetti Award for their outstanding leadership and involvement -- at Indiana State and in the pursuit of insurance and risk management as an area of study and future career. Last year, RIMS generously sponsored more than 30 students to attend the RIMS 2006 Annual Conference & Exhibition in Honolulu, and this year, Gohman and Sunbury are part of a field of 33 honorees. "Indiana State University has had a proven record of success when it comes to the Benedetti Award, and we're extremely proud of our students as they continue to stand head and shoulders above the rest in this competition," said Mary Ann Boose, professor and coordinator of the insurance and risk management program at ISU. "Jocelyn and Amanda will be terrific representatives of Indiana State and of our nationally recognized insurance and risk management program."
As Benedetti honorees, Gohman and Sunbury will be sponsored by RIMS to attend the annual conference (including airfare, hotel and registration). They also will receive a small stipend as part of the award program, which was established to honor the late Anita Benedetti, former deputy executive director of RIMS and president of the Spencer Educational Foundation, Inc.
"The best and brightest are at RIMS every year," Boose added. "There is no other venue with such a wide range of educational opportunities. Not to mention, Benedetti winners are treated like VIPs. It's a wonderful opportunity for our students!"
