Indiana State University's fifth annual 24-hour giving day on Wednesday, March 22, resulted in $1,385,877 for the university to enhance the academic experience for Sycamores. This is a record-setting fundraising amount in a single day for Indiana State.

1,710 donors from all 50 states and 3 countries contributed during this 24-hour fundraising event.

"Give to Blue Day 2023 was another huge success," said President Deborah J. Curtis, Ph.D. "We are grateful to all who supported this record-setting day of giving which means so very much to our university and our students."

Funds raised on Give to Blue Day support a variety of projects, programs, and scholarships across Indiana State's divisions and colleges, the donor chooses where their gift will be designated.

Sycamore Athletics topped the leaderboard in total dollars raised, followed by the College of Arts and Sciences, the Scott College of Business, the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, and the Bayh College of Education.

"Raising $1.38 million dollars in 24 hours from 1,710 donors is a bold example of joyful giving," said Andrea Angel, Vice President of University Advancement and CEO of the ISU Foundation. "We continue to be impressed and humbled by the generosity of our donors on Give to Blue Day and beyond. As the first Give to Blue Day during the public phase of the Be So BOLD campaign, we are thankful for anyone who made a gift, provided challenges and matches, and visited our community partners."

Various community partners throughout the Wabash Valley, many of which are alumni-owned businesses, participated in Give to Blue Day by hosting special promotions, encouraging donations, and contributing a portion of sales to ISU. Businesses included Federal Coffee + Fine Foods, Culver's, Terminal Public House, Grand Traverse Pie Company, Java Haute, WaterTower Estates, and McDonald's locations in Terre Haute.

Give to Blue Day 2023 was a digitally driven event with more than 537 social media ambassadors, including ISU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends.

Other games and gatherings took place across campus throughout the day such as a "Pour Over" event at the campus Starbucks and "Cash Cab" trivia, both hosted by the Student Philanthropy Organization.

"Give to Blue Day shows us all the power of philanthropy at Indiana State," said Miah Ferran, Student Philanthropy Organization President. "We are excited to continue amplifying the voices of Sycamores and celebrating the importance of giving for the next Give to Blue Day!"

Next year's Give to Blue Day is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
