Indiana State University Sales Team members Hunter Diveley, a senior from Watson, Illinois; Jeremy Brown, a junior from Chicago; and Connor Lash, a sophomore from Champaign, Illinois, placed first in their category at the National Team Selling Competition which took place on October 21-23, hosted by Indiana University.
Ninety-six competitors participated from 32 colleges and universities with $9,000 in prize money. The ISU Sales Team members will receive a $1,500 check for being named one of four room winners.
The competition, conducted virtually this year, is a premier sales event that brings together top-level sales talent who apply their classroom knowledge and experience in a realistic selling situation.
The competition enables students to prepare for future sales careers by tackling real-world situations and connecting with corporate partners and recruiters. This event attracts teams from colleges and universities across the country.
The ISU Sales Team was formed last year under the direction of Coach Dr. Ricky Fergurson, Assistant Professor of Marketing and Operations. "I am extremely proud of the members of the Indiana State University Sales Team," Fergurson said."It is fantastic to see their hard work and dedication rewarded with this win at the National Team Selling Competition. Competitions such as these allow students in our sales program to develop their sales skills and provide them with an added level of career readiness that companies look for when recruiting."
The competition was hosted by the Center for Global Sales Leadership at the Kelley School of Business and sponsored by Altria and 3M. The other room winners were Indiana University, Marian University and Villanova University.
