ISU chooses new Executive Director for Extended Learning

August 7, 2020

Dr. Tim London has been selected as Indiana State University’s new Executive Director for Extended Learning.

He will start Sept. 14.

London comes to Indiana State with years of experience in teaching, research, development, strategic planning and leadership in K-12 through higher education. He has served as the Head of Organizational Innovation & Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Town (South Africa) Graduate School of Business; Director of Programs at the University of Cambridge (UK) Institute of Continuing Education; and Assistant Professor at Kennesaw State (Georgia) University Educational Leadership Department.

His K-12 experience started in the Las Vegas-area public schools and then took him to Egypt and Saipan before returning to the U.S. in roles with the American Federation of Teachers and the Commonweal Foundation.

“We are excited to have Tim join our team,” said Jason Trainer, Vice Provost for Enrollment Management. “I look forward to Tim working with our campus partners to enhance and expand our extended learning programs.”

Said London: “I was very excited about the role when I first saw it, and even more excited to work with the ISU team after the interview process. I was blown away at how every person I spoke to was committed to improving the access and success of learners, and willing to rethink how we work to make those goals possible. As a Minnesota native, this is also a great chance to be a bit closer to my family and friends in the Midwest, though I have to admit I’m not excited about the coming winter after six years of the Cape Town climate.”

London earned an Ed.D. in Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University; an MBA (with Distinction) in Entrepreneurship at the University of Liverpool; a Master of Laws (with Distinction) at Queen’s University, Belfast; a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at the University of Illinois-Springfield; a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education Institutions at Queen’s University, Belfast; and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Colgate University.
