Performing Arts Series presents 'Hyprov' Jan. 16

December 3, 2019

Hypnosis and improv -- two art forms that have mystified and entertained fans, skeptics and everyone in between for decades -- come together as two masters of their crafts unite for a totally unique comedy experience, "HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 in Tilson Auditorium.

The family-friendly show is a part of the ISU Performing Arts Series and sponsored by the Terre Haute Savings Bank and Pepsi.

During the show, 20 volunteers from the audience will be put under hypnosis by master hypnotist Asad Mecci: Their inhibitions will evaporate, and the volunteers' minds will no longer their own. The contestants will be methodically and hysterically excused until five are left on stage. Co-Creator Colin Mochrie then joins them to improvise with the remaining hypnotized volunteers, turning the show into an improv extravaganza.

There will be a special pre-event for ticket holders featuring entertainment related to the performance and refreshments at 6:30 p.m. in the Heritage Ballroom of Tirey Hall.

Tickets are $27-$29 for adults, $24-$26 for ISU employees and $5 for ages 2-12. To purchase tickets go to ticketmaster.com, call 877-ISU-TIXS or visit the Hulman Center Ticket Office located in Tirey Hall T150.
