Nine incoming Indiana State University freshman have been awarded the Networks Scholarship for 2017.
The Networks Financial Institute Scholarship provides first-year students with full in-state tuition for four years and a $3,000 professional development account.
The scholarship program was created with the generous support from the Lilly Endowment of Central Indiana and formed Networks Financial Institute in 2003. Recipients of the Networks Scholarship were selected based on high academic performance, involvement in their high school and community, demonstrated leadership potential and their desire to pursue a career in business and financial services.
Recipients of the Networks Scholarship have also been presented the opportunity to become part of the prestigious Networks Professional Development Program in the Scott College of Business. The Networks Program is intended to develop future leaders of the financial services and business fields by offering opportunities such as corporate mentoring, paid internships, international travel and professional conferences, and career and professional development.
There is a heavy focus on both professional and personal growth through hands-on learning, industry relationships and personalized coaching through participation in weekly educational seminars, student-led planning and execution of projects that impact the program and the university and community with events like the annual Networks Ethics Conference held at Indiana State each spring.
