The Indiana State University Presidential Search Committee will meet in executive session on Monday, June 5, to begin the process of searching for the twelfth president of Indiana State.
"The committee is a strong, diverse group of individuals who will represent various stakeholders in this important process. I would like to thank my fellow trustees Jeff Taylor and Kim Smith for their willingness to lead this process and express my appreciation to all those who have agreed to serve on the committee. I would especially like to thank the Faculty Senate for its quick response in selecting the faculty representatives," said David Campbell, chair of the Indiana State University Board of Trustees.
The committee is chaired by Trustee Taylor with Trustee Smith serving as vice chair. Other members include: Indiana State University Foundation Board President Bart Colwell; Indiana State University Alumni Board President Paul Chaney, Sr.; faculty members Christine MacDonald, Lindsey Eberman, John Conant, Alister McLeod, and Melissa Gustafson; Staff Council Outgoing Chair Roxanne Torrence; Student Government Association President Tanner Smith; Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration Diann McKee; Vice President for Student Affairs Willie Banks, University College Dean Linda Maule; and community representative Bob Baesler. David Campbell, chair of the ISU Board of Trustees, and Teresa Exline, Chief of Staff in the Office of the President and the Provost, will serve as ex-officio members.
Campbell noted that nominations for the position have already started coming in even though the position has not yet been formally publicized.
"We expect a good pool of high-quality candidates. President Bradley has put Indiana State in an enviable position as a thriving, growing university that should be attractive to many," he said.
Ryan Crawford, a partner in the higher education search firm of Storbeck/Pimental & Associates, has been hired to assist with the presidential search.
An administrative/operational transition team has also been established and will be co-chaired by Trustee Ed Pease and Vice President for University Engagement Nancy Rogers. The team will assist with the recognition of out-going President Dan Bradley's exemplary performance and help facilitate the introduction and transition of the new president. Bradley, who has served as Indiana State's president since 2008, announced last month his intention to step down as president in January 2018.
Members of the transition team in addition to Pease and Rogers are: Trustees Kathy Cabello and Randy Minas; Vice President for Development and CEO of the ISU Foundation Ron Carpenter; Athletics Director Sherard Clinkscales; Chief of Staff Exline; Executive Director of Government Relations Greg Goode; Executive Director of the ISU Alumni Association Rex Kendall; Associate Vice President for Communications and Marketing Santhana Naidu; Student Government Association Vice President Justin Ottino; Staff Council Chair Beth Phillips; and Indiana State faculty Steve Lamb, Bobbie Jo Monahan, Robert Owegi and Keri Yousif.
Campbell will serve as an ex-officio member.
The transition team will conduct its first meeting on Thursday, June 8.
