Regali ensemble to present concert Feb. 8

January 29, 2015

The Regali Chamber Winds and Strings, a faculty ensemble in residence at Indiana State University, will be featured in concert 4 p.m. Feb. 8 at University Hall.

Music will include arrangements by Reynaldo Hahn in a suite of Renaissance pieces entitled "Le Bal De Beatrice D'Este," "Out and Back Again" by Ken Benshoof, a double concerto featuring violinist Davis Brooks and cellist Kurt Fowler, and the grand "Serenade for Winds, Opus 44" by Antonin Dvorak. Concert is free and open to the public.

The Regali Chamber Winds and Strings ensemble is a professional faculty-student based ensemble at Indiana State's School of Music. Founded in 2012 by its present conductor and artistic director Roby George, the ensemble seeks to expand and enhance the cultural landscape of the greater south-central Indiana community, including the campus at Indiana State.

The core of 16 to 20 professional wind, string and percussion musicians work together in a variety of ensemble combinations in the School of Music and come together in concert as this ensemble once a year. The mission of Regali is to present and expand on the vast history of wind chamber and mixed chamber ensemble repertoire and provide the sophisticated classical music audience of Indiana a new music concert experience.

Its members are represented by advanced students, faculty and local area professionals.
