Steel band and percussion ensemble concert set for Nov. 14

November 6, 2014

The Indiana State University steel band and percussion ensemble will perform featuring music faculty members Kelley Rogers Niiyama on clarinet and Brian Kilp on horn at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14.

Niiyama will play a composition specially commissioned for her and the percussion ensemble by Indiana State composition student Zachary Huff.

Kilp will be featured on a special arrangement of the king of Thailand's composition "Near Dawn," arranged by Indiana State faculty member Daniel Powers.

The concert will also feature music learned by the percussion ensemble during their summer 2014 trip to Thailand.

The performance at the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts, room 159, is free and open to the public; young audience members are especially welcome.
