Catch a glimpse of an art student's experience in the University Art Gallery's last exhibition for the fall. Showcasing the work of graduating art and design seniors the BFA/BS Thesis and Senior Exhibition celebrates their accomplishments as students.
Running from Dec. 2 - 14, this exhibit includes artwork from Bachelor of Fine Arts candidate Mark Voelker and Bachelor of Science candidates Charles Athey, Dacia Rund, Lindsey Staletovich, Tenia Wheat, and Qing Yu.
After four years, these graduates can boast a variety of new abilities. Ranging from graphic design, to wood sculpture, to auratone photography, a new printing method that creates gold-tinted photographs, many of these skills are represented in the University Art Gallery.
"During my time at Indiana State, I discovered other fields that fit my interest: illustration, screen printing, typography, photography, and writing," said Voelker. He has found that these skills contribute to his degree in graphic design.
An artist's reception will take place from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the University Art Gallery.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. The University Art Gallery is located in the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts at the corner of Seventh and Chestnut Streets.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free group tours are available upon request. For more information, contact Grace Pringle at 812-237-3720.
