The Indiana State University School of Music Student Ensemble Series will present the Masterworks Chorale in concert on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. in Tilson Auditorium.

The 70-member choir, under the direction of music faculty member Mark Carlisle, will perform "Gloria" and "Regina Coeli" with a solo vocal quartet and chamber orchestra of strings, winds, brass, percussion, and keyboard. Featured soloists in these two works will be voice faculty members Lisa Lowry and Yana Weinstein; Michael Boswell, and Indiana State music alumnus and faculty member at St. Mary of the Woods College; and Erich Kendall, also an Indiana State music alumnus.

John Rutter's "Te Deum" will also be performed with the choir, brass ensemble, keyboard, and timpani.

"Gloria" is a work in three movements by American sacred music composer Mark Hayes that uses the Gloria in excelsis text intermixed with a traditional English translation. Mozart's "Regina Coeli (or Caeli)" is an ancient Latin Marian Hymn of the Christian church, and one of the four seasonal Marian antiphons of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The "Te Deum" is one of the most ancient and inspiring of Christian liturgical texts.

Tickets to the event will be available at the door, or by calling the School of Music at 812-237-2771. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for non-ISU students, and free for ISU students with a student I.D. and children under the age of 10.
