February 28, 2012

Indiana State University will offer a variety of aquatics programs through the Student Recreation Center this spring.

Learn-to-swim lessons will be offered for people of all ages and skill levels. Group, semi-private and private settings are available.

Group lessons are scheduled as consecutive six-week sessions at a cost of $40. Saturday group lessons will begin March 17 and Sunday sessions will begin March 18.

Private lessons include a choice of four 45-minute lessons or six 30-minute lessons for $80. Extended private lessons offer six 45-minute sessions or nine 30-minute sessions for $110. Semi-private lessons include the same number of sessions as individual lessons but can accommodate a group of up to three people for the same cost.

The Student Recreation Center will also offer Red Cross certification courses for lifeguard training, CPR/AED training and first aid. Prices for these classes vary from $30 to $150, as course lengths range from one day to several weeks.

Those interested can register at the Membership Services Desk in the ISU Student Recreation Center or download registration forms online. Participants must register prior to the first day of the course.
