Two Indiana State University Foundation staff members have been named to boards of directors positions with the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
Karen O'Rourke, associate vice president for development, has been named to the board of directors of CASE District V, which covers Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. Kim Bloch, assistant director of communications, has been named to the CASE-Indiana board.
O'Rourke has more than 20 years of experience in higher education fundraising and communications. She oversees annual and major gifts, research, stewardship and development communications for the ISU Foundation, where she has worked since 2005. She previously served as director of annual giving for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and as editor of the Marshall (Ill.) Independent Choice newspaper. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Eastern Illinois University and a master's degree in educational leadership from Indiana State. In addition to the CASE V board, she serves on several community boards, including Hospice of the Wabash Valley and Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and is president of the Leadership Wabash Valley board.
Bloch manages the foundation's communications and marketing efforts and maintains the communication plan for MARCH ON! The Campaign for Indiana State. She joined the foundation in 2010, the same year she completed a Master of Arts in communications from Indiana State. She holds bachelor's degrees in advertising and public relations and marketing from Midland University in Fremont, Neb. In addition to the CASE Indiana board, she served on the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Community of the year committee.
CASE serves professionals in the field of educational advancement, including alumni relations, communications, marketing and fund-raising. As one of the largest international associations of education institutions, the nonprofit organization serves nearly 3,400 colleges, universities, schools and related organizations in 61 countries.
