Indiana State University looks forward to welcoming fifteen high-achieving scholars to the Scott College of Business this fall. These students are recipients of the Networks Scholarship award, a competitive award for incoming freshmen.

The honor comes with four years paid tuition, a $3,000 professional development account, a corporate mentor and the opportunity to be part of the Networks Professional Development Program.

According to Terrie Troxel, executive director of the Networks Financial Institute (NFI), the goal of the development program is to "encourage talented individuals to study business and applied economics in preparation for professional careers in financial services. Emphasis is placed on development of leadership skills, ethical decision making, and effective communication both orally and in writing."

Award recipients are chosen for the professional program based on their high school grade point averages, college entrance exam scores, high school leadership activities and a series of interviews by Indiana State faculty, staff and current scholars in the development program from NFI in the Scott College of Business.

Troxel notes the value these talented students bring to ISU's campus.

"The Networks Professional Development Program has allowed the Scott College of Business to attract and retain some of the best students in the college and university," he said.

This year's freshmen Networks Scholars are:

Eric Barber, son of Kris Barber and Tami Barber, is a graduate of New Prairie High School. He is a resident of Rolling Prairie and intends to major in management.

Trey Carpenter, son of Henry Carpenter and Tamara Carpenter, is a graduate of Marshall Community High School. He is a resident of Marshall, Ill. majoring in business administration.

Landon D. Curry, son of Brian Curry and Kristi Curry, is a graduate of Norwell High School. A resident of Uniondale, he plans to major in accounting.

Daniel E. Ferguson, son of Tim Ferguson and Angie Ferguson, is a graduate of Oswego High School. He is a resident of Oswego, Ill. and plans to study accounting.

Andrew Feutz, son of Jeffrey Feutz and Kris Feutz, is a graduate of Eminence High School. He currently resides in Quincy and plans to major in business administration.

Andrew Jones, son of Keith Jones and Angie Jones, is a graduate of Greenwood Community High School. A resident of Greenwood, he intends to major in accounting.

Samantha Lindauer, daughter of Jeannell Lindauer, and also Denny Lindauer, is a graduate of Gibson Southern High School. A resident of Haubstadt, she plans to major in accounting.

Zoe Lutes, daughter of Cheryl Lutes and Bruce Lutes, is a graduate of Schlarman High School. A resident of Danville, Ill., she plans to major in business administration.

Grant Alexander Mansard, son of Ashley R. Mansard and Donna Bird-Mansard, is a graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School. The Terre Haute resident intends to study business administration.

Logan Rassel, daughter of Susan Rassel and David Rassel, is a graduate of Morgan Township High School. She is a resident of Valparaiso majoring in accounting.

Brooke Rust, daughter of Sandy Rust and Ron Rust, is a South Spencer High School graduate. A resident of Grandview, she intends to major in business administration.

Janae Smith, daughter of Nancy Smith and Daniel Smith, Jr., is a graduate of Corydon Central High School. She is a resident of Corydon planning to major in management information systems.

Hillary Steber, daughter of Lisa Steber and Ronnie Steber, is a graduate of East Richland High School. She is a resident of Claremont, Ill., majoring in financial services.

Jessica Worl, daughter of Lisa Rone and Jerry Rone, and the late Todd Worl, is a graduate of Centerville Senior High School. She is a resident of Richmond and intends to major in business administration.

Jefferson Zahn, son of James Zahn and Janet Zahn, is a graduate of Castle High School. He is a resident of Newburgh and plans to study accounting.
