Indiana State University and other partners in the Rural Health Innovation Collaborative will sponsor an open house Thursday (June 16) to gather public comment on a draft plan for future improvements in the neighborhood between the ISU campus and Union Hospital.

The session will take from 3:30 - 7 p.m. at Landsbaum Center for Health Education, 1433 N. 6 ½ St. Persons who live, work or have an interest in the neighborhood are especially encouraged to attend and offer their opinion.

A draft of the plan is available for review at ISU's Cunningham Memorial Library, the Vigo County Public Library, Terre Haute City Hall, the Landsbaum Center reception area and online at www.communitycollaborate.com.

The mission of the Rural Health Innovation Collaborative is to improve and expand education and training of healthcare professionals, especially those committed to serving rural and underserved populations. In addition to Indiana State, the hospital and the Richard G. Lugar Center for Rural Health,, partners are the city of Terre Haute, the Terre Haute Economic Development Corp., Indiana University School of Medicine-Terre Haute, Ivy Tech Community College-Wabash Valley, Hamilton Center, the Indiana Rural Health Association and the Vermillion-Parke Community Health Center.
