Indiana State University will offer comprehensive driver's education classes for teenagers this summer.

The "Learn to Drive" program of the Department of Applied Health Sciences and the Office of Continuing Education meets all state standards. Participating students receive 30 hours of classroom learning and six hours of in-car driving practice with a certified instructor.

Designed for high school students, the course offers a three-phase approach, including classroom lectures, assessment and practice on a multi-car driving range and on-street driving. Students must be 15 years and 180 days old by the time the class begins.

Students can choose one of two five-week sessions, June 6 through July 8 or July 11 through Aug. 12. Classes meet Mondays and Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Parent orientation will take place at the beginning of the first class each session. The cost of the course is $345.
