Indiana State University President Dan Bradley is among three new Fellows of ABET, the accrediting body for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering and technology.

The Fellow of ABET Award is presented each year to recognize those who have provided sustained quality service to engineering and technology professions and education through the organization's activities.

Bradley was recognized for his leadership and stewardship of ABET finances and for more than two decades of dedicated commitment to accreditation and quality assurance as a program evaluator, team chair, board member and ABET officer.

Bradley first volunteered for ABET in 1989 and has been a board member since 2000. He has served as treasurer since 2006 and oversaw the implementation of a new financial model for the organization.

President of Indiana State since 2008, Bradley previously served as president of Fairmont State University in West Virginia and as dean of engineering, head of the petroleum engineering department and vice chancellor for academic affairs and research at Montana Tech of the University of Montana.

Bradley holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology, a master's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Michigan State University.

The other newly named ABET Fellows are Robert Cannon, distinguished professor emeritus of computer science and engineering at the University of South Carolina and William Kelly, manager of public affairs at the American Society for Engineering Education.
