The Terre Haute community is invited to join with Indiana State University alumni, students, staff and faculty in an effort to fill an entire Sycamore Bus with non-perishable food items to help those in need this holiday season.

Donations for Jam the Bus may be dropped off at the following locations and dates:
* Family Day at Memorial Stadium: Oct. 30 from 1-3pm
* Miss ISU Pageant: University Hall Oct. 31 from 3-5pm
* Campus Cupboard (Hulman Memorial Student Union): Oct. 29-Nov. 4
* Dede Plaza: Nov. 3 and 4 from 10am to 2pm

Beginning Nov. 1, canned items for the food drive can be purchased for 25 cents each at the Campus Cupboard and then taken to a collection point. Seats on the bus can be purchased for a $25 donation. Donated items will be taken to Catholic Charities, a Second Harvest location.

Last year, Jam the Bus delivered 1,483 pounds of donated food items to Catholic Charities. Jam the Bus is just part of Indiana State's on-going effort to ease hunger in the Wabash Valley.

For the past three years, Sodexho at Indiana State University Dining Services received a $20,000 grant from the Sodexho Foundation to provide food to Catholic Charities, which dispersed it to its 18 local feeding centers over a 12-week period this past summer.

In addition to the more than 2 tons of food items received via the grant, roughly 50 pounds of surplus food items are picked up daily by Catholic Charities from Indiana State's dining facilities to help with local feeding programs, soup kitchens, and food pantries.

Jam the Bus is sponsored by Hulman Memorial Student Union Board, Student Athlete Advisory Council, Intercollegiate Athletics, Residence Hall Association, Nursing Department, ISU Dining Services and Residential Life.
