ISU’s NASCAR Kinetics team to host official NASCAR Viewing Party for Talladega event

October 28, 2010

The NASCAR Kinetics team at Indiana State University will host an official NASCAR Viewing Party for the Sprint Cup Series race from Talladega at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Zorah Shrine Temple, which is located at 420 N. 7th St. The event is free to the public, though tickets are required. Attendees are invited to come dressed as the most colorful fan of NASCAR.

The race will be televised on a screen measuring 14 feet by 14 feet inside the temple starting at 1 p.m. The party will offer a variety of festivities for the students, faculty, staff and families of ISU, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and the Shriners. A tailgating party will be held in the parking lot of the Zorah Shrine Temple where ISU has joined with Rose-Hulman for a car show. Music, a corn hole competition, contests and even door prizes will be given as part of the activities during the tailgate party from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Clabber Girl has also partnered with ISU by providing M&M cookies for the event. Other snacks and refreshments will be provided as well. Competitions, contests and NASCAR prize giveaways will take place during the race. You must be present to win.

Tickets will be distributed to ISU learning community classes and various departmental offices at both ISU and Rose-Hulman. The ISU Kinetics team's official viewing party is one of only 12 held on college campuses in the U.S. during the latter part of the NASCAR season.
