Indiana State University's Cunningham Memorial Library will host "How to Get Published" on Tuesday, April 13, as part of National Library Week.

Wabash Valley residents who have published are encouraged to promote their books at this event, as well as speak to attendees about how they published their books. Space is limited, and the deadline to register for a table is March 30. No books will be sold at the event.

"We were looking for something that that celebrated the books but would also be practical and of interest to the academic community and local authors," said Marsha Miller, ISU reference and instruction librarian.

From 4 to 5 p.m. on April 13, ISU faculty, who have published their dissertations, will discuss "How to Turn Your Dissertation into a Book." Then at 5:30 p.m. Mike Lunsford will be the keynote speaker at the "Wabash Valley Authors Showcase." Lunsford, a writer for the Terre Haute Tribune Star, has authored two books, "The Off Season: The Newspaper Stories of Mike Lunsford" and "Sidelines: The Best of the Basketball Stories."

The event is the first for the Library Consortium of Vigo County and is sponsored by the ISU library, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and Vigo County Public Library.
