Indiana State University will recognize nine graduating seniors with the Hines Memorial Medal during spring commencement ceremonies, scheduled for 2 p.m. May 9 in Hulman Center. Named for Linnaeus Hines, who served as the university’ fourth president from 1921 to 1933, the Hines Medal recognizes those students with the highest cumulative grade-point average during the pursuit of a bachelor’s degree at Indiana State.

Spring 2009 recipients are:

	Paul Harold Foster of Terre Haute, a computer engineering technology and electronics and computer technology major. Foster plans to continue his education and earn a master’s degree in electronics and computer technology. A graduate Terre Haute North Vigo High School, Foster is the son of Michael and Shirley Foster.
	Stephanie Nicole Held of Bloomfield, an elementary education and special education major. Held will remain in Indiana to obtain a teaching position in elementary and special education. A graduate of Bloomfield High School, Held is the daughter of Greg and Sandy Held.
	Stephanie Ann Krietenstein of Seymour, an elementary education major with a minor in language studies. Krietenstein plans to be an elementary educator in a school with a high Spanish-speaking population. She would like to continue her education by working toward a master’s degree in Spanish. A graduate of Seymour High School, Krietenstein is the daughter of Bob Krietenstein and Cathy and Greg Reasoner.
	Allison Dene Flurkey of Terre Haute, a physical education—exercise science major. Flurkey will attend the Krannert School of Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis in the fall to work toward becoming a doctor of physical therapy. A graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School, Flurkey is the daughter of William and Debbie Flurkey.
	Dava Danae Reberger of Newtown, an elementary education and special education major. Reberger will pursue opportunities in elementary and special education in Indiana, while also preparing for her wedding in June 2010. A graduate of Fountain Central Jr./Sr. High School, Reberger is the daughter of David and Diana Reberger.
	Tiffany Marie Reida of Kokomo, a life sciences major. Reida plans to continue her education by attending medical school. A graduate of Western High School, Reida is the daughter of Chad and Shelly Reida.
	Allison Nicole Sears, Kokomo, a life sciences major and chemistry minor. Sears will enter Indiana University’s School of Dentistry in July. A graduate of Western High School, Sears is the daughter of Dave Sears and Rex and Rhonda Burket.
	Danielle Nichole Whitezel of Paris, Ill., an athletic training major. Whitezel will attend the Krannert School of Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis in the fall with the intention of becoming a doctor of physical therapy. A graduate of Paris High School, Whitezel is the daughter of Brian and Lorelei Whitezel.
	Andrew David Willmann of Hartford City, a criminology and criminal justice and psychology major. Willmann’s career goal is obtain a position as an intelligence analyst with the Federal Bureau of Investigations. A graduate of Blackford High School, Andrew is the son of Randall and Ann Willmann.
