Indiana State University's College of Business recently welcomed its fifth class of Networks Scholars. Recipients of this prestigious award, presented in conjunction with Networks Financial Institute, receive a four-year $20,000 scholarship that covers tuition and fees, a $3,000 professional development account and a new ISU laptop.

Networks Scholars also enjoy the opportunity to participate in a paid internship, potential for international experience and a faculty mentor relationship.

Candidates are considered for the award based on grade point average, SAT/ACT scores, class rank, written essays and a mandatory personal interview. Members of this year's Networks Scholars class of 2011 are:

Whitley Chilton, daughter of James and Patrice Chilton of Fishers. A 2007 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School, Chilton is a marketing major at Indiana State.

Kali Diethrich, daughter of Brett and Debbie Diethrich of Terre Haute. A graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School, Diethrich is majoring in finance and insurance and risk management. During high school, she was active in cheerleading, gymnastics, track, youth group, Link Crew, JDC, National Honor Society, Patriot Painters, and Caring Quilts.

Brittany Faulkner, daughter of John and Cynthia Faulkner of Indianapolis. A graduate of Warren Central High School, Faulkner is majoring in accounting and is pursuing a minor in finance. Her activities have included Habitat for Humanity, Reach for Youth Teen Court, Art with a Heart, DECA National Technical Honor Society, Key Club, National Honor Society, student council, class council, and Serendipity.

Stephanie Flora, daughter of Tom and Doris Flora of Scipio. A graduate of Jennings County High School, Flora is an accounting major. She is also the recipient of the Lilly Endowment Community and Sam Walton Community Scholarships. She has been a varsity letterwoman, a member of the National Honor Society, and has been active in 4-H and French club.

Keith Gettelfinger, son of Jerry and Jane Gettelfinger of Depauw. A graduate of North Harrison High School, Gettelfinger is a business administration major and is pursuing a minor in accounting. In high school he was varsity soccer captain, soccer defensive MVP of the year and was active in National Honor Society, 4-H, FFA and Leo Club.

Madison Kirchner, daughter of David and the late Tove Kirchner of Brazil. A graduate of Northview High School, Kirchner is an accounting major and is pursuing a minor in forensic accounting. She played golf during high school and was also awarded a $500 golf scholarship. She also participated in Student Council, National Honor Society, Varsity Club and French Club.

Tiffani Newlin, daughter of Jay and Tami Newlin of West York. A graduate of Hutsonville High School, where she was the class salutatorian, Newlin is majoring in business administration and is pursing a minor in management. She is also the recipient of the Marathon Petroleum and Wal-Mart Scholarships. In high school, she was active in National Honor Society, Student Council and Future Business Leaders of America.

Cody Parks, son of Bobby and Debbie Parks of Sharpsville. A graduate of Tri-Central High School, Parks is majoring in accounting at Indiana State University. Parks is also the recipient a Dollars for Scholars award. During high school, he participated in soccer, track, football and paintball.

Kelsey Powell, daughter of Robert and Kathryn Powell of Effingham, Ill. A graduate of St. Anthony High School, Powell is a marketing major at Indiana State. A member of the National Honor Society and the Society of Academic Achievement, she is an Illinois State Scholar. Her high school activities included dance team, track, band, pep club, student council and serving as class vice president.

Sarah Sallee, daughter of Garry and Elizabeth Sallee of Paris. A graduate of Paris High School, Sallee is a business administration major and is pursing a minor in management. She has participated in Key Club, FCCLA, Spanish Club, MayMete basketball, powder puff football and band. A National Honor Society Member, she also received the Citizen's National Bank Scholarship.

Andrew Schroeder, son of Rodney and Maureen Schroeder of Fort Wayne. A graduate of Homestead High School, Schroeder is an accounting major and is pursuing a minor in forensic accounting. Schroeder ran varsity track and cross country all four years of high school. He was also involved with the National Honor Society and Latin Club. Now he enjoys volleyball intramurals, racquetball and ultimate Frisbee.

Katherine Wheeler, daughter of Edward and Diane Wheeler of Paoli. A graduate of Paoli Jr/Sr High School, Wheeler is a business administration major and is pursuing a minor in accounting. In 2006, she had the opportunity to serve on the Indiana Ambassadors of Music European Tour. She is involved in the youth group and bell choir at her church and has worked as a ski instructor at Paoli Peaks.
