In December 1997 he was promoted to director of corporate risk management and is responsible for worldwide property and casualty programs for the corporation, including loss prevention, security standards/systems, global insurance programs, workers’ compensation programs fleet management and self administered global property/casualty claim administration.

Kugler is also responsible for Snap-On’s insurance agency, Snap-On SecureCorp Inc., and related “for profit” activity and the company’s insurance captive, Snap-On SecureCorp Insurance Company Limited. He oversees dealer insurance and retirement programs for 6,000 dealers worldwide.

As part of the Risk Manager-in-Residence program, Kugler will be visiting Indianapolis and Terre Haute, including a meeting and dinner with the ISU Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma (student risk management/insurance/actuarial professional society); a reception in his honor in Indianapolis in conjunction with a meeting of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) — Indiana Chapter; presentations in several insurance classes; guest speaker in a School of Business forum and an all-campus forum.
