Storage Space and Backups

OIT strongly recommends that students back up all their important files in case the unthinkable happens. Having more than one copy of your files insures that in case of a catastrophic problem you can still retrieve your files. Having the files on the cloud is one of the best ways to back up your important files. It also allows you to have access to them anywhere you have wireless access or smartphone access.

OIT strongly recommends that students back up their important files to their OneDrive account.

  • Log in to your Sycamores email account from your laptop
  • Tap or Click ‘OneDrive’ located in the top menu bar.
  • Select the “Upload” button
  • A window will pop-up saying “Drop files here or select them from your computer.”
  • You can pick and choose the files you want to upload by dropping them in the box
  • Once they are uploaded you periodically upload files as needed.

OneDrive is not a backup solution for a complete disk backup. It is only for cloud storage of selected files.
