School of Music to present a holiday choral concert

November 27, 2017

The Indiana State University School of Music will present a Holiday Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 in the University Hall Theater, located in the Bayh College of Education.

"This is going to be a really fun program," said Director of Choral Activities Scott Buchanan. "We started this event last year and it was a great success. We had a wonderful crowd, and I received many requests from members of the community to continue the event. We are always looking for more ways to showcase the outstanding vocal talent we have here at ISU. Not just our students, but our voice faculty as well. Eventually, we want this event to involve the entire School of Music, however, we haven't figured out the logistics quite yet."

The program will feature the Indiana State Women's Choir, University Chorale and Sycamore Singers. All groups will perform a wide variety of Christmas and holiday music. Members of the ISU voice faculty will also make special appearances as Colleen Davis, Mathilda Edge and David Mannell will all perform.

"It is great to have so many entities willing to perform for our community. I hope this can become an annual tradition that catches on and continues to build," Buchanan said. "It will be wonderful weekend in Terre Haute to bring in the holiday season. Everyone should come out to the Miracle on 7th Street downtown event Friday and Saturday, and close out the weekend with some outstanding music on Sunday afternoon."

Tickets may be purchased at the door for $5 on the day of the event. You may pay with cash or check, as credit cards cannot be processed. For information call 812-237-2768.
