Innovation Alliance to be featured at next Sycamore Showcase at Noon

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Learn more about the Terre Haute Innovation Alliance at Indiana State University's upcoming Sycamore Showcase at Noon on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at the corner of Seventh Street and Wabash Avenue.

The Alliance, a partnership between Indiana State University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, the City of Terre Haute, and the Terre Haute Economic Development Corp., was created to enhance economic development and provide businesses the resources they need to succeed.

The project helps new high-tech and innovative businesses get started and existing businesses expand while providing real-world experience to college students. The Innovation Alliance focuses on providing commercialization services through the expertise of faculty, students, and project managers at ISU and Rose-Hulman.

Beginning at noon, several presenters will discuss the partnership and its goals. Participants will also hear from Nick Mahurin, founder and CEO of InfraWare, who will speak about his experience with the Alliance.

Presenters include Richard Pittelkow, interim director for the Center for Business Support and Economic Innovation at Indiana State University; Magda Narczewska, Center for Business Support and Economic Innovation at Indiana State; Brad Kelsheimer, vice president for administration and business affairs for Rose-Hulman Ventures; Mitch Landess, manager of client programs for Rose-Hulman Ventures; and Steve Witt, president of the Terre Haute Economic Development Corp.

Attendees are welcome to bring their lunch or purchase a box lunch for $9. Box lunches must be reserved in advance by calling Marni Loyd at 237-2335.

Sycamore Showcase at Noon is a regular free event for the Wabash Valley community and the ISU community and is designed to foster collaboration between the two entities.
