Robert Riseling to Perform at ISU Feb. 11

TERRE Haute, Ind. -- Virtuoso Clarinetist Robert Riseling will perform Monday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of Indiana State University’s Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

A native of Batavia, Ill., Riseling is professor emeritus at the University of Western Ontario where he taught from 1970-2003.

An active solo, chamber musician and adjudicator, he has performed extensively in Canada, the U.S., Europe, Scandinavia, Iceland, Israel and Asia. Numerous broadcasts for CBC Radio Canada have included some of the more than 40 works written for him. He has performed six times at the International Clarinet Association's annual Clar-Fests and numerous other festivals and conferences in North America and abroad.

Riseling will perform alongside ISU faculty members Martha Krasnican, piano; Sarah Burk, clarinet; and Brian Kilp, horn. The evening’s program will feature works by Francis Poulenc, Alec Wilder, Béla Kovács, Carl Reinecke, and Donald Steven.
