Tickets are now on sale for Indiana State University music department's 15th annual Wind/Percussion Scholarship Concert on Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. in Tilson Auditorium.
The concert will feature the ISU Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band and the world-renowned Boston Brass.
Musicians will perform Mahr's "River Jump Fantasia in G," Hidas' "Concerto for Brass Quintet and "Heros and Legends," a premiere arrangement for quintet and band by Rick DeYoung. In addition, the Boston Brass will perform other quintet favorites.
Performing more than 120 concerts annually, the members of Boston Brass have dazzled audiences at concerts and jazz festivals in such cities as New York, Seattle, Philadelphia, Detroit, Dallas, San Antonio, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles. Committed to education as they are performance, they have conducted master classes at colleges and universities around the country. Along with their instrument sponsor, C.G. Conn, Boston Brass has conducted clinics and concerts at regional and national educational conferences. They have been featured on National Public Radio's "Performance Today," and have recorded several ground-breaking albums.
The concert is sponsored by the ISU music department, C.G. Conn, WFIU Radio, and the Tribune Star.
Admission is $5 for students and $10 for adults, with special patron tickets available for $30 that includes attendance at a reception following the program hosted by ISU President and Mrs. Lloyd Benjamin.
