The program will include Ã¢â‚¬Å“String Quartet No.1Ã¢â‚¬Â by Indianapolis composer Peter Hansen and Franz SchubertÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Ã¢â‚¬Å“String Quintet, Op. 163.Ã¢â‚¬Â
The program features guest cellist Dennis McCafferty in one of Franz SchubertÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s most celebrated works. McCafferty, an ISU alumnus and former student of Robert Montgomery, performs and teaches in the Indianapolis area where he has resided since the 1970s.
McCafferty, who earned in bachelorÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s degree from ISU in 1969, is on the faculty at the University of Indianapolis, where he teaches cello and holds the positions of orchestra conductor and director of string chamber music. He is also in residence there as the cellist of the New Century String Quartet.
As recitalist and chamber musician, he has appeared with the Indianapolis Chamber Players, the Faulkner Chamber Players, Suzuki and Friends Chamber Series, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, the Linden String Quartet, the FourtÃƒÂ© Ensemble and was a member of the Pollensa Festival Chamber Orchestra in Spain. He also frequently appears in the cello section of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Bellingham Festival Orchestra in Bellingham, Wash., and as a recording studio musician.
Quartet members include Sharilyn Spicknall, violin; William Davis, violin; Allison Edberg, viola and Kurt Fowler, cello.

The Indiana State University Faculty String Quartet will be performing on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Center for Performing and Fine Arts, located at Seventh and Chestnut streets.
