Irene Mulvey is professor of mathematics at Fairfield University and Treasurer of the Connecticut State Conference of AAUP. She has extensive experience with AAUP, including positions at the local, state and national level.

The American Association of University Professors, AAUP is the premier national organization mobilized to advocate for academic freedom, shared governance and the wellbeing of academia in general. Goals of AAUP include:

Defense of academic freedom and shared governance.Development and promotion of best practices in higher education.Promoting economic security for all those engaged in teaching and research.
