Providing quality baccalaureate nursing education is the goal of Indiana State University's College of Nursing, Health, and Human Services. To accomplish this goal and respond to the educational needs of practicing registered nurses, the nursing faculty developed the Baccalaureate Track for Registered Nurses.

The track offers registered nurses an alternative curriculum through which they can earn the baccalaureate degree. The program consists of 35 credit hours in the nursing major. In addition to the coursework required in the nursing major, students must also complete the University's Foundational Studies Program.

A unique feature of the track is the opportunity to earn up to 10 hours of credit through professional portfolio evaluation. The portfolio evaluation option provides the experienced nurse the opportunity to demonstrate successful attainment of specific objectives and earn either full or partial credit for selected nursing courses in the Baccalaureate Track for Registered Nurses (Nursing 304, 318, 322, and 470).

Indiana State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). In addition, the Nursing Program is approved by the Indiana State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN).

Indiana State Online Students Residing Outside of Indiana: Each of the states has its own approval processes for out-of-state institutions offering online degrees. While Indiana State University endeavors to offer all of its programs to as wide an audience as possible, all ISU online programs may not be available in all states. Currently, online programs are not offered in the state of Massachusetts. To check the status of programs available in a particular state, visit program availability.
