The program provides a flexible, convenient, and individualized approach to education. Each student works with an advisor to create a program of study tailored to support the student's career goals. Graduates possess the critical thinking, leadership, and interpersonal and communication skills valued by employers.

Students benefit from classes developed and taught by ISU faculty who have a diversity of specialties. All courses are offered online. On-campus visits are not required.

The General Studies Program is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences, and is offered in cooperation with the colleges of the University.
