Post-Professional Athletic Training Program - Graduate Education

Program Admission

Applications for students enrolling for Fall 2015 will be due December 15th, 2014. Students should submit on-line applications, cover letter, resume, a writing sample and letters of recommendation before the December 15th.  After the deadline, students should anticipate Skype interviews in January 2015, and an admission decision by February 2015.

Program Eligibility Criteria

Graduation from a CAATE accredited professional athletic training program and eligibility to take the BOC exam. Candidates from Canada and Ireland will also require BOC certification.

A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or greater at the time of admission.

Completion of GRE required.  (A combined Math and Verbal GRE score of 295 or greater preferred.)

Application Process

      • Complete the online application (Program and Assistantship Application).  The application will include uploading the following files:
        • Cover Letter
        • Resume
        • Writing sample
          • Please use a “research” paper from a previous assignment.  This should be evidence-based and should be technical, not persuasive. 
      • Letters of Recommendation (2)
        • These references should include one (1) academician and one (1) clinician.

      • We will form a Graduate Admissions Committee composed of faculty, clinical supervisors, and current graduate students to review and evaluate applications.
      • After the review process (January), we conduct on-line Skype interviews.  We invite all students to visit campus to meet with faculty, view the campus and clinical sites, and the Terre Haute community throughout the application process.  However, the Skype interview is intended to save potential students time and money.
      • Apply to the College of Graduate and Professional Studies as a degree seeking student.
